Artwork description

The mural “The First Couple” pays tribute to the many families who chose the Central District to build their future and help make the neighborhood what it is today.

Inspired by the legacy of a father who passed on his passion and textile expertise to his family, the artwork evokes memory, resilience, and family ties. Patterns, scissors, spools, and apricots become symbols of a journey marked by immigration, hard work, and resilience.
