Artwork description
In front of a large window, in a reading area in the corner of the adults’ section of Bibliothèque de Pointe-aux-Trembles, Lucie Duval’s artwork Mots choisis sits on a white cube. Inspired by the theme of the book, it is composed of superimposed pieces of Plexiglas on which different texts are engraved. A frame and a wooden base complete the artwork.
The changing light from the window near the work reveals its multiple strata. Indeed, the words are revealed differently depending on the time of day and the viewer’s position in the space. Language and space are intermingled, as they are in many of Duval’s artworks.
