MSHL
Originally from Rennes, now living in Montreal since 2009, Mshl, pronounced Michel, has been practicing graffiti for over 25 years. In Quebec, he has expanded his research and given more space to abstraction in his practice. He participates in various exhibitions in Montreal and creates large-scale works in Montreal’s public spaces. Alternating between geometric and organic forms, Mshl plays with spaces, alignments, and colors (blue is never far away) to achieve a composition that tends toward balance.
Since 2017, with MU, he has been offering workshops in schools and assisting numerous muralists while continuing his own artistic research. In parallel with painting, he has been experimenting with video since 2013. He has received several awards that have given him the opportunity to show his films projected on the walls of Montreal and at the famous Fantasia Festival in Montreal.
