Links between science and nature form the theoretical context underlying Yves Boucher’s pictorial research. His work is based on natural structures that are themselves sustained by clear and specific laws. He also refers to mathematical research of nature. The artist is working to bring about a plastic transposition of this union. He is interested in the role of theoretical reflection in art, in artistic aesthetics versus mathematical aesthetics, in the seduction and mystical power of the art.
Yves Boucher has participated in a number of solo and group exhibitions in Quebec and Ontario, as well as in Argentina. His artworks are represented in public and private collections in Quebec, in the United States, and in Europe.
