Julie Favreau

Julie Favreau lives and works in Montréal and Berlin. Her art practice is articulated around staging performers in performances that bring together photography, video, sculpture, and installation. Through constructed objects and human gesture, Favreau imagines timeless stories in which symbols, myths, and dreams are combined. She is the recipient of the Pierre-Ayot Award (2014) and the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Fellowship (2012), Her works have been presented in Québec, Toronto, and abroad, and she has participated in residencies in New York (2013), France (2011–12), and Berlin (2017). She is represented by Galerie Division.
