OMAR
A Montreal-based artist originally from Mexico, Omar repurposes and gives new life to found materials, elements, and styles. He creates artistic experiences that subtly explore themes of diversity, destiny, and identity. His eclectic, vibrant style—often infused with a touch of humor—manifests in depictions of objects, fantastical creatures, and characters, as well as images from everyday life. Omar holds a specialization in Mexican art history, a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, and extensive training in painting, performance art, video art, video animation, and digital art under the guidance of Ariel Guzik, Isaac Kerlow, Björn Melhus, Klaus Vom Bruch, and others. He actively collaborates with renowned artists and organizations such as the CALQ, MBAM, MU, DAM, and TYXNA in the creation of public artworks and as a jury member.
