Pascale Girardin

Over the past two decades, Pascale Girardin has been active in the world of ceramics, visual arts and design, producing tableware, objets d’art and site-specific installations for interior design and architecture. Inspired by the expression of pure forms, her signature creations are a result of meticulous craftsmanship and a sensibility to materials which can be hand-formed, such as ceramics or plaster.

She has studied biology (Université de Montréal), visual arts (BFA from Concordia University and M.A. in visual and media arts at UQAM), ceramics (Centre de Céramique Bonsecours) and design (GradCert Concordia University). Her achievements as an artist and designer have earned her several awards and distinctions, including the Pierre-Pagé Prize as well as grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.

She has gained international recognition, collaborating with some of the world’s top design firms on projects that include the Shanghai’s Four Seasons Place, New York’s Peninsula Hotel, Paris’ Printemps department store and Dubai’s Al Badia Golf Club, among many others. Her work, whether suspended in mid-air, grazing a wall or floating in water, takes on organic forms, subtly underscoring our relationship with the world we live in.
