The Arcs
Patrick Beaulieu

A visual and media arts graduate of UQÀM, multidisciplinary artist Patrick Beaulieu takes an interest in the relationships between humans and the elusive forces that surround them. He has created numerous works of public art and has shown his works in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe and Asia. Over the past 12 years, his career has been driven by a yearning for travel and encounters. He has roamed across North and South America, Europe and Asia, accompanied by authors, philosophers and landscape architects. These rambles became transfrontier odysseys and included following the aerial migration of monarch butterflies from Canada to Mexico (Vector monarca, 2007), a continental journey to trail the winds of America, (Ventury, 2010) and a road trip whose itinerary was determined entirely by fate and chance encounters (Vegas, 2012). Beaulieu’s work combines sculptures, videos, installations and in situ/in socius performances.
