Gerald Gladstone
1929 - 2005

Artwork description

The sculpture in this university atrium embodies the dynamism, movement, and energy characteristic of Gerald Gladstone’s work. The visual tension between the massing of the metal components and the apparent weightlessness of the suspended sphere is a recurring motif in his early practice.

Rarely exhibited since their creation in the 1960s, the Ellen Gallery agreed to integrate the sculpture into an important thoroughfare in Quartier Concordia.
