1700 La Poste
1700 La Poste is a contemporary art center dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary art through its exhibitions, carefully crafted publications, lectures, documentary film production, and educational outreach, shining a light on Canadian and international artists’ work.
Postal Station F, built in 1913, was designed by architect David Jerome Spence. Located at 1700 Notre-Dame St. West, the building was fully restored a century later under the direction of Isabelle de Mévius, guided by the singular vision of the late Luc Laporte. This major undertaking was the architect’s last project. The center celebrated its five years of existence in 2018.
