{"id":59025,"date":"2016-08-01T10:01:13","date_gmt":"2016-08-01T14:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/en\/?p=59025"},"modified":"2016-08-01T10:01:40","modified_gmt":"2016-08-01T14:01:40","slug":"this-months-featured-partner-montreal-museum-of-fine-arts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/en\/2016\/08\/this-months-featured-partner-montreal-museum-of-fine-arts\/","title":{"rendered":"This month&#8217;s featured partner : Montr\u00e9al Museum of Fine Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The\u00a0Sculpture Garden features 22 sculptures from the modern period to today!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Throughout the month of August, the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/en\/partner\/musee_beaux_arts\/\">Montreal Museum of Fine Arts <\/a><\/span>will partner with Art Public Montr\u00e9al to help more of you discover one of the most important public art collections in the city.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0collection features internationally renowned artists, including: David Altmejd, Val\u00e9rie Blass, C\u00e9sar, Dale Chihuly, Aaron Curry, Jim Dine, Kosso Eloul, Sorel Etrog, Joe Fafard, Barry Flanagan, Elisabeth Frink, Antony Gormley, Fernand L\u00e9ger, Henry Moore, Mimmo Paladino, Jaume Plensa, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Armand Vaillancourt and Colleen Wolstenholme.<\/p>\n<p>The Sculpture Garden helps the Museum reinforce the importance of public art in the city. All of this is made possible by key art collectors, such as CGI and Max and Iris Stern, as well as support from the City of Montreal and the Ville-Marie borough.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum offers guided tours of the Sculpture Garden:\u00a0Free with purchase of a ticket to see the collection.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesdays:<br \/>\nFR \u2013 2:30 p.m.<br \/>\nEN \u2013 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Fridays:<br \/>\nFR &amp; EN \u2013 2:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Sundays:<br \/>\nFR &amp; EN \u2013 2:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Flash lunchtime tours exclusively for VIP members:<br \/>\nFR \u2013 12:15 p.m.<br \/>\nEN \u2013 12 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A dance floor on Avenue du Mus\u00e9e!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts chose architect\u2019s Jean Verville work, <em>Plancher de danse \u2013 Dance Floor<\/em>, to enliven Avenue du Mus\u00e9e from May-October 2016.\u00a0The pedestrian walkway is pattered with thousands of golden footsteps\u2014an homage to the mosaics in the exhibition Pompeii\u2014creating a golden path that reflects the progress of human life. This giant dance floor is a festive installation, but it also reminds us that an urban space is a human space.<\/p>\n<p>The Museum has organized numerous outdoor events during the month of August.
