Titled <em>Plus de 100 \u0153uvres d\u2019art public \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al &#8211; 5 circuits d\u00e9couverte<\/em>, the art map was widely distributed throughout the city, and enthusiastically welcomed by art and architecture lovers. To mark Montr\u00e9al\u2019s 375th anniversary, the map has been updated and given a new identity which reflects the public art partnership project created in 2015, <strong>Art public Montr\u00e9al<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But the concept hasn\u2019t been changed: the five tours present near 100 pieces, selected from the 1000 works in Montr\u00e9al\u2019s public art collection. The walking tours offer a wonderful overview of various art collections, including those of the Ville de Montr\u00e9al, the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de transport de Montr\u00e9al (STM)\u2014more than 50 of its m\u00e9tro stations include public artworks\u2014as well as those of private collectors, major companies and public institutions. This art, some of which is the fruit of the Qu\u00e9bec government\u2019s policy to integrate art into architecture and the environment, include sculptures, installations, photographs, paintings, stained glass, murals\u2014something new in this second edition!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-63054 alignleft lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/carteEn-300x271.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"271\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/carteEn-300x271.jpg 300w, https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/carteEn-768x693.jpg 768w, https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/carteEn-80x72.jpg 80w, https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/carteEn-800x722.jpg 800w, https:\/\/artpublicmontreal.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/carteEn.jpg 983w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/271;\" \/>The tours have been prepared for many of the metropolis&#8217; best-known neighbourhoods: the Golden Square Mile and its museums, Downtown, Old Montr\u00e9al, the Quartier des spectacles and the Plateau Mont-Royal. All the itineraries, which differ from those of the first map, dated 2013, take about 1.5 hours on foot. They were designed to start and end near a m\u00e9tro station for easy access.<\/p>\n<p>In order to take into account current urban development projects, the map itineraries will be updated in spring\u00a02018 to include the many artworks that will be added to public space this year.<\/p>\n<p>This new map will be available for free in English and French at various places in the city, including the Vitrine culturelle, the Infotourist Centres, cultural facilities and the Ville de Montr\u00e9al library network.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy your discoveries!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In May 2013, a brand new tool to explore public art was made available to tourists and Montr\u00e9alers.
