Guillaume La Brie , Discuter avec Platon<\/em>, 2019, cr\u00e9dits photos : Michel Pinault<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li>Guillaume La Brie , Discuter avec Platon<\/em>, 2019, cr\u00e9dits photos : Michel Pinault <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n Created in 2019, this sculpture is comprised of a public bench on which\nsits a dodecahedron, a 12-sided object that mathematics calls a Platonic solid\nin. Solidly embedded in the bench, the form represents knowledge, intelligence\nand understanding. Passersby are invited to directly experience the work by\nsitting on this piece of urban furniture; it is a catalyst for contemplation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Born in Saint-Hyacinthe in 1978,\nGuillaume La Brie now lives and works in Montr\u00e9al. Through the creation of\nsculptures in which spatial arrangement strategies are predominant, his\nprincipal aim is to connect notions of place, the object and experiencing the\nwork. A finalist for the Pierre-Ayot prize in 2012, his work has frequently\nobtained the support of the Conseil des Arts et lettres du Qu\u00e9bec as well as\nthe Canada Council for the Arts. He has created more than 15 public art projects\nsince 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exhibition “Dialogue avec la nature ” <\/em>de Catherine Aboumrad, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exposition photographique Dialogue avec la nature<\/em>, cr\u00e9dits photos : Michel Pineault <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n Catherine Aboumrad was born and still\nlives in Montr\u00e9al. She holds a Bachelor\u2019s of Fine Arts, majoring in\nphotography, from Concordia\n University. Her work is a\ntestimony to the patience she shows in capturing the furtive tableaux revealed\nby landscapes when we take the time to look for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bringing together a selection of\nworks from her projects, \u201cConserver l\u2019immobile\u201d, \u201cL\u2019Arbre\u201d and \u201cHorizons\u201d, Dialogue avec la nature<\/em> offers free access to special moments observed at length, as\nwell as to the nature that silently surrounds us, a nature that, all too often,\nescapes us, and that which sometimes manages to completely envelop us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exhibition “Sous le regard de Fortin<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exposition photographique Sous le regard de Fortin<\/em>, cr\u00e9dits photos : Michel Pineault<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n Prolific Qu\u00e9bec painter Marc-Aur\u00e8le\nFortin (1888\u20131970) had a special affection for rural landscapes. While he is\nwell known for his representations of majestic oaks and cloudy skies, he was\nalso interested in depicting Montr\u00e9al\u2014and in particular the Hochelaga\nneighbourhood and Montr\u00e9al\u2019s port\u2014to testify to the metamorphosis of the\nlandscape during the era of industrialization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This exhibition presents a selection\nof works in which the artist, using various techniques and a variety of media\n(oils, gouache, watercolours charcoal, pastels, etchings), recounts in his own\ndistinctive way the progressive disappearance of the rural landscape as it gave\nway to a new urban district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These two exhibitions were created by curator Nicole Lemire, who has been working for several years on the development of numerous borough exhibitions, including Be .. in 2018.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
