MÏNS is a Haitian-Montreal painter, airbrush artist, and muralist. She was born in the 1990s, a time when technology was in its infancy and cultural innovation was booming. From a young age, the artist was inspired to express her reality through art. Growing up, the lack of representation in Quebec media drove her to paint her vision of the modern Afro-diaspora.

With walls as her first canvas, she juggles between concrete, paper, canvas, and textiles. She depicts contemporary figures, both female and male, in an urban aesthetic rooted in hip-hop and graffiti. She portrays them as sensitive beings connected to the astral realm, endowed with innate powers and gifts. Their presence exudes an energy of rebellion against a world where existence is a constant struggle, yet where peace remains attainable.

Since 2014, MÏNS’s acrylic and spray-paint works have expressed the richness of her cultural heritage and lived experience. She challenges profound issues through an ethereal, vibrant, and colorful visual language. Her art incorporates codes from a period that shaped her youth, with an Afrofuturistic approach. She immortalizes the contemporary Black presence with the intention of transcending time. Every moment that follows represents a possible creative future for her generation.
