Through my work, I seek to create an element of surprise for viewers, prompting them to pause and reflect. I particularly enjoy creating images that appear different when viewed up close versus from a distance. This allows those who encounter the work regularly and up close to gain a unique perspective on it.
By exploring new technical avenues and blending different practices—from printmaking to papermaking and mural art, I aim to challenge people’s preconceptions and remind them that the world around us, too, can be different and can be transformed.
Artwork description
This artwork transforms the pillars of Highway 40 into a true outdoor art gallery in the heart of the Saint-Michel neighbourhood. Nineteen Montreal muralists created more than 40 colourful murals on the highway’s columns, sparking the revitalization of the area. This artistic gesture marks a strong visual milestone for the Circus Arts District and makes the space more welcoming for pedestrians and cyclists. Adding to this initiative is a citizen participation project: colourful paste-up collages, created by and for the Saint-Michel community as well as local paste-up artists, further enrich the route.
