Artwork description

The mural is based on a portrait of Maurice Richard, accompanied by graphic elements. This method of transparency effects presents a technique at the heart of the artist’s practice. Postal style framing adds texture and more pronounced lines. Along with color sepia, framing provides a historical touch and evokes the memories, archive images, and letters hidden in attics. It also allows to present the work as a message, a letter that travels through generations to inspire young people of today. On the left side of the wall, that includes the shed, a street hockey scene with youth recalls that even hockey legends begin in the street. Sure enough, the alley where the wall is located serves as a popular location for youth street hockey in Ahuntsic. The signature of Mr. Richard completes the wall and integrates the color of the Molisana restaurant. The mural was designed and executed by : Dodo Ose and Zek One.
