Korb is a muralist and painter from Quebec. After starting out in graffiti in the early 2000s, he gradually moved toward public art and developed his mural practice on Montreal’s South Shore starting in 2010. His visual world draws inspiration from mythological legends, the figure of the modern warrior, and the transformations of humanity within a constantly evolving environment. Through hybrid characters, biomechanical armor, and compositions influenced by cymatic forms, he has developed a practice in which instinct, material, and accident occupy a central place. His work takes shape on both walls and canvas, in an immersive approach situated at the crossroads of contemporary muralism and graffiti.
Artwork description
This artwork transforms the pillars of Highway 40 into a true outdoor art gallery in the heart of the Saint-Michel neighbourhood. Nineteen Montreal muralists created more than 40 colourful murals on the highway’s columns, sparking the revitalization of the area. This artistic gesture marks a strong visual milestone for the Circus Arts District and makes the space more welcoming for pedestrians and cyclists. Adding to this initiative is a citizen participation project: colourful paste-up collages, created by and for the Saint-Michel community as well as local paste-up artists, further enrich the route.
