Artwork description

The fresco was painted on a wall on the ground floor of the Beaudry House, in a room now used for exhibitions and chamber concerts. The Beaudry House is a former farmhouse and one of the oldest buildings in Pointe-aux-Trembles; it now has a cultural vocation.

The mural is formed of two superimposed sections. The lower scene is better preserved. It portrays a golden vase within which a small fruit tree grows. On either side of the vase, a bird sits on a tree twig; the left-hand bird is red, and the right-hand bird is yellow. The grouping is framed by a green curtain and flower garlands. Of the upper scene there remain only the painted elements on the right side: a mature tree and an orange fruit resting on the ground.

The mark made by a shelf that separated the fresco into two parts, and that was probably meant to hold a statue, is still visible.
