Born in Montreal in 1983, ARPi’s interest for the visual arts is rooted in his childhood. Through the paintings in his mother’s collection, he loves envisionning lives of the painted subjects or the life of the artist.
Self-taught, ARPi makes art his profession in 2006. His commissioned work and the unique characteristics of each project push him out of his comfort zone and give him the opportunity to adapt to a variety of artistic circumstances. He strives to showcase the beauty of simplicity in his work, exposing the delicate balance between realism and abstraction that occurs when bringing an idea to life.
Artwork description
The park’s context dictated the theme and direction of this project. This mural by ARPi reinforces the Saint Cunégonde Park as an area for relaxation in an island of nature that is both luxurious and serene. To produce his mural, ARPi took inspiration from the spirit exuding from the neighbourhood and his desire to bring local residents somewhere else.
