Diane Gougeon

The work of Diane Gougeon interferes in the complex relationship between nature and technology. Through her multidimensional devices, her work explores various symbolic and phenomenological aspects of the mediation of the physical world as it is operated by technology. Photographic and videographic works are added to the main production of installations.

Over the years, she has intervened in both public and private places. In addition to the usual exhibition venues, her work has invested in abandoned gardens, public and government buildings. In 1997 with À demi-mot, then in 2005 with Circulaire, it intervened in the city’s space using motor vehicles as supports: taxis, delivery vehicles, private vehicles.

Her artworks have been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions. Recently exhibited at the Centre d’exposition Plein Sud (Longueuil, 2013) and Artspace (Peterborough, 2012), they have been presented in Canada (Halifax, Moncton, Québec, Toronto) and internationally (Canadian Cultural Services, center of contemporary art Passages, Troyes) for about twenty years. Diane Gougeon has also produced several public art projects in Quebec and has three monographic publications on her work.
